The Psychic is a Good Team role. It is one of the fourteen roles that appear in Anonymous Mode and Regular Mode and one of the five roles that appear in Classic Mode.
In Regular Mode and Anonymous Mode, the Psychic can choose one player every night and learn the team they are on. In Classic Mode, the Psychic can choose one player every night and learn if they are the Murderer or not. Unlike the Detective, the information given to the Psychic is 100% accurate, and does not require guesses/assumptions.
Tips and Tricks
- If you haven't found significant information, there's no rush to reveal yourself. Roles with a killing ability hunt for the Psychic to prevent themselves or their teammate from being exposed. The Witch can also block you. Keep in mind that if there is a Medic, they could protect you from the Murderer, and a Savior could potentially bring you back in the game. The Scout could also bug you if you reveal your role in hopes to find the identity of the Murderer.
- If you've found an Evil Team member, try to notify others by sending notes or writing in your journal, saying someone is suspicious and finding a reason that could also work. Remember to be cautious, because notes have a 20% to drop. You could reveal yourself as a last resort, but make sure that the Murderer/Assassin is already gone, the Clown has used their kill, and/or that role is the last evil role left to win the game. With this, revealing yourself does not always work, as while this can get you on possible good terms with the Medic or Savior for them to help you (if they're alive or still in the game), some players will think you are the Dark Psychic trying to impersonate the good one. For any experienced players on the Evil Team, they may try to manipulate everyone into believing you are the Dark Psychic to vote you out.
- This also may happen if the Dark Psychic's journal is revealed (which will most likely have information written for who they read), which may confuse players.
- When you are adding notes into your journal, make sure that the names won’t be tagged/censored later on (i.e. ‘Amani’ as ‘A man i’ or ‘Jean-Claude’ as ‘Jean’). Doing so might cause players to believe that your journal was faked.
Trivia
- There is only a 3.33% chance of getting the Psychic role without boosts from scrolls.
- The Psychic is the Good Team counterpart of the Dark Psychic.
- The Psychic is the most dangerous role against the Evil Team.
- Most players find the Psychic overpowered in Classic Mode, since they are directly told who the Murderer is if they read the correct player.
- The Dark Psychic role might have been added because of this.
- In the Classic Mode, the Psychic may not be lucky when it comes to readings — only one Murderer exists in a round, and everyone else is innocent.
- In Anonymous Mode and Regular Mode, there cannot be a Psychic and a Spy within the same round.
- In the 3.0.0 update, the Psychic in Classic Mode now only says the team when checking a role of a player instead of the actual name.
- Both the Psychic and Spy have yellow text in their introductions, representing their connection and "Sleuth" roles.
